File Rename Questions
I decided to start a new thread so as to stop hijacking DP812's "Volume" Topic.
Ok, well I had messed with the rename template before the last post I made (believe it or not I am not totally inept, and can figure out a fair amount of a GUI before the questions come), but I went ahead and tried a few variations with mixed success. For this test run I messed with Usagi Yojimbo Volume 2. I added the %volume% to the command line (wrong lingo?) and it would add a "2" where I told it to. It worked and - at least with this series - CT was able to find the issues when it scraped after doing so, so I can live with that.
Next, since I am an idiosyncratic weirdo, I tried adding a "V" before it (V%volume%), since I had done it with a "#" in place of the "V" and it would add "#" in front of the volume number when I did the rename. No such luck. My reason for trying this is because I like having the file name note that the second number is - in fact - the volume... Ideally for me, I like having my .cbz files look like this: "Usagi Yojimbo V2 #001."
Is there a way to do this that I am missing? Is there a reason why I shouldn't be doing it this way? I can tell you guys that when I first discovered this wonderful project and you had to do it one file at a time (it already feels like ages ago ), I had really good luck on the scrape when the files were named this way. At the end of the day I can do batch renames using automator, so it is not a huge deal... but I'm just curious to see if there is a way to do this in CT as it would just make this app that much more awesome.
Also, what does this mean: "Apply CBL Transforms on Batch Copy Operations to CBL Tags"
Thanks guys!

Re: File Rename Questions
I am having trouble understanding what you're describing.
Can you re-create this problem with a single file, and cut and paste (or type):
1. The raw tags from the file (File->View Raw Tags->View Raw ComicBookLover Tags)
2. The filename before.
3. The rename template.
and then, after you do the rename,
4. The new filename
5. (if the new name is not what you expect) your expected name
(I'll address your CBL Transform question later when I have more time!)

Re: File Rename Questions
Not sure how this happened... but I posted a reply and it is now gone?
Anyway, I will mos def get the log when I have some more time. In the meantime, however, maybe I can clarify:
This is how my files look after I use the rename function in CT - Usagi Yojimbo 2 #001.cbz
This is how I want them to look - Usagi Yojimbo V2 #001.cbz
Essentially I want more than just a number to represent the volume... a "V" would be perfect.

Re: File Rename Questions
So you tried to set the rename template to something like this:
and it didn't work?
- Code:
%series% V%volume% #%issue%
and it didn't work?
Re: File Rename Questions
Hahaha... it didn't the first time, I SWEAR!!!!!
I tried it again before I checked this thread and it worked. Problem solved.
Thank you!

Re: File Rename Questions
Also, what does this mean: "Apply CBL Transforms on Batch Copy Operations to CBL Tags"
Just to follow up on this: it means when you are copying from another tag style to CBL style, that the selected transforms should be applied. Basically you're saying you want to move around the data in the ComicRack tags to make them fit better in the CBL style.
Re: File Rename Questions
I think so... I basically wanted more than just a number to denote the volume in the filename. Adding the "V" was perfect, and made it easier to get an accurate scrape.
