Hello,
First of thanks for your hard work, I've been using comictagger for a few weeks, and I have been really enjoying it.
I have a question though.
I have a collection of comics that have been previously tagged with ComicRack and its vinescrapper, and have the ComicInfo.xml files added to the cbz.file.
I wanted to clean some of the comics by deleting the ads pages, to do so, I have to unzip, delete the target pages and rezip them. I know this process will get rid of the metatagging. But since I leave the xml file intact, is there any way to load that information again and create either/both CR and CBL tags for the cleaned comic archives ?
It would be great to be able to do a batch loading and converting of the files. Would this be possible ?

Cheers

Well, rezipping the files shouldn't lose the XML file. You do have to make sure it's in the root folder of the zip, though. Are you using the Windows GUI to rezip? I tried that, and it seems always stuff things down one level. Maybe you 7zip or another tool?

Also... the XML file often may contain a structure of info about the pages (size, resolution, type), and by removing pages via your method, that will cause that structure to be out of sync. It shouldn't cause problems to ComicTagger, as it will just ignore the structure if the page count differs, but I can't say what ComicRack will do. You could always manually edit the XML files to remove that Pages structure as well.

I have to say, I don't have any plans to add functionality to do what you want in ComicTagger directly. However, since I've recently restructured the code, it's possible to easily write python scripts that use the existing ComicTagger code library . I may eventually look into writing an add-on script that will use to do what you want. You would have to be willing to delve into installing python, add other dependencies onto your machine, and then run things from the windows command-line (if that is where are you are).

You would also have to manually mark all the pages in all the comics that you want to delete as "Ad" or "Delete" in either ComicTagger or ComicRack.

Hello Again.
You were completely right, the issue was that, while recompressing (I was using a Hazel rule, compress and rename to cbz) the archive created had a depth of two, and the xml file was then in subfolder. I changed the compressing rule and now it is perfect, the xml file is read by Comictagger, and I can use the command line to do the batch copy to CBL tags.
So thanks for answering so quick.
