Problems installing 1.1.3 Source

Post  kev0153 on Wed Mar 06, 2013 9:02 am

Hi,

Trying to install the latest beta from source on my linux server running Ubuntu 12.04 with python 2.7.3

I'm running the setup.py commands of build and install (using sudo) Everything seems to be install correctly but I'm getting this error when running the comictagger.py command

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/local/bin/comictagger.py", line 2, in <module>
from comictaggerlib.main import ctmain
File "/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/comictaggerlib/main.py", line 28, in <module>
File "/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/comictaggerlib/cli.py", line 35, in <module>
File "/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/comictaggerlib/settings.py", line 24, in <module>
ImportError: No module named configparser

I tried running setup.py install_libs but that doesn't seem to solve it. Looks like I'm missing the configparser module? Did a bit of searching but can't seem to solve the problem. Everything I've read says that is a standard module included with python.

I use the CLI version only and the above error was generated using comictagger.py --version (but it generates the same error using in CLI commands)

Any help?

thanks!

This is maybe a little confusing. "ConfigParser" (with the capital "C" and "P") is the standard module in 2.7. "configparser" (all lower case) is a back-ported version from 3.x that handles unicode strings.

You just need to use easy_install or pip to install the package:

Code:
sudo easy_install configparser

or

Code:
sudo pip install configparser
