ComicRack for OSX?!

It looks like there's a chance it's becoming more than a pipe dream! I'll be glad to say goodbye to CBL if this happens!

Re: ComicRack for OSX?!
Don't hold your breath. That posting is from the forum moderator, not a developer.
Re: ComicRack for OSX?!
I thought he was also the developer?
EDIT: Looking at the post again, I see what you mean. I missed the little @cYo portion.
At the very least, it's being discussed and the upcoming iOS release shows potential interest in reaching out to the Apple market. I know I'd pay for it.

Damn. I hope this happens. Comicbook Lover appears to be dead.

Re: ComicRack for OSX?!
CBL for OSX is still being actively developed. Here's a recent post about the beta: http://forums.comicbooklover.com/discussion/66/comicbooklover-1-6-release-candidate-for-mac-os-x-10-6-10-8
Also, have you guys tried out YACReader? http://www.yacreader.com/ I can't test it on my Mac as there's no 32-bit build, but this app also has a library. I am not sure what his future plans are, but he might be open to adding support for reading metadata from files.

Re: ComicRack for OSX?!
I don't think BitCartel is interested in making any significant changes to CBL. They've been promising CBR-CBZ conversion and event/crossovers since last year, but no mention of anything in the new betas. I hope I'm proven wrong, but so far it seems like the $24.95 I paid for the full version is going to end up being a waste of money.
I experimented with YAC in the past and I just tried the latest version. Comic Flow is nice, but the library is sorely limited and the reader is very clunky and jerky.
Also tried to use Wine to open CR on my Mac, but that didn't work.

For what its worth CT runing on Debian stable is under 1GB of disk space and small enough ram that it would work on even low end vmware kit... or most semi modern MAC.
Its not a real solution but its a path to it working that would take less than an hour to setup for free

I don't understand what any of that means. Can you elaborate?

Re: ComicRack for OSX?!
There is a bit of disconnect. anomander, I think, didn't realize we were talking about comic *readers*, as opposed to utilities like ComicTagger. Too many initials starting with "C"!
Re: ComicRack for OSX?!
Yes i read one thing and answered another. Oops sorry
However I am a huge fan of vmware and the like and i think the answer is still valid. Windows XP + comicrack on vmware wont be much more of an overhead than wine and it will work 100% as designed

That requires having Windows. Not willing to pay $200 for Windows and I looked into torrenting it, but it seems it's a bit of a challenge to install Windows with Bootcamp if it's not a legitimate copy.

Re: ComicRack for OSX?!
While its pretty cool that comicbook lover is still developing, none of those "whats new" bullets are making me super excited. Comicrack is way superior. Just sucks that its not for mac.

Re: ComicRack for OSX?!
I even posted something asking if we'll get some features close to what ComicRack has, like story-arc/crossover sorting. Still no response, and something tells me there won't be a response. Like I said, they've been promising this stuff for a long time but have been completely mum since the initial "we're planning it" announcement.
Yeah, I'm "planning on" building a mansion in the Hamptons, but until I have something to show for it, it's just empty rhetoric.

Re: ComicRack for OSX?!
anomander, do you have any advice (or any links) to how one might install Windows 7 and VMWare on Mountain Lion? The closest thing I've found is a guide that says I need an OSX install CD, which I don't have since my Mac didn't come with any install discs.
